This is great hot cereal. I first had Red River in a Canadian fishing camp about 13 years ago. It wasn't until recently(past two years) that I have begun ordering it on the Internet. Great hot cereal! It'll have you hooked.
Great start to the day November 14, 2007 I also tried this on a Canadian train & it was great. I enjoy oatmeal, but it can be so gluey in texture & leaves me feeling hungry well before lunchtime. Red River has a great texture, gets me through to lunch without weighing me down, and you can't beat the ingredients--cracked wheat, cracked rye & flax seeds & nothing else. I make it on the stove each morning--I find this actually easier than in the microwave. It doesn't need anything added, but sometimes I'll add just a drop of real maple syrup and/or a bit of milk for a hint of creamy sweetness.

I first tried this when visiting relatives in Canada.
Love at first spoonful.
Our local grocer carries it, thank goodness. It's one of those stick-to-your-ribs cereals. One regular serving with a little brown sugar or Splenda stays with me until lunch.
If you like oatmeal and whole wheat bread with all the chewy grains and seeds, then this is the cereal for you.

We enjoyed Red River cereal at a friend's home and enjoyed it so much. We couldn't find it in stores so ordered it from Amazon. It arrived fresh and delicious. I was a little surprised at how small the boxes of cereal were for the price.
A delicious hot cereal!!! April 23, 2006 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
We tried this while at a lodge on Eagle Lake (Canada)& had it every morning! It has become a favorite; beats oatmeal hands down. Red River Cereal has lots of flavor on it's own, but is really delicious when you add dark brown sugar & milk. This cereal quickly became a staple breakfast food in our house. Like the old advertisemnet said "try it, you'll like it!"
