3 out of 5 stars Disappointed in the Smudges   May 1, 2008
3 out of 3 found this review helpful

Naturally, I am always on the prowl for a fabulous mascara - one that will make my eyes "pop", but without the typical concerns (i.e. smudging, clumping, flaking, irritating). Naturally, as devoted customer to Sephora, I was rather compelled by the award of "best of Sephora" to this mascara. Yes, I am pleased with the black color that seems to highlight rather than obscure. I am also happy with the appearance of lengthening my lashes. However, I am not happy with the way that this mascara leaves me with "raccoon" eyes; I constantly have to stop by a mirror to gently rub away the black smears beneath my eyes. This is a big downer in my book as I prefer makeup with lasting power (see my review on fiberwig mascara Imju Fiberwig Fiberwig) as I do not have time between court appearances to constantly primp, reapply, and adjust. This mascara is good as a night-time application where frequent trips to the powder-room are not impossible, but for busy work conditions, I suggest finding a mascara with more staying power.

Update: The smudging which was so bad when I first starting using this mascara has seemed to be reduced over time. I don't know if this mascara is more prone to smudging immediately after opening, but it may be a possibility. Diorshow certainly adds volume, in fact so much so, I still stick by my recommendation of using it as an evening mascara.

All I have to say is OMG AMAZING!!! I have probably used every mascara under the sunauch as Mabeline, Covergirl to Mary Kay and even Trish McEvoy! Dior Show is in a class all unto it's own! I literally could not believe my eye's ( haha, sorry!) My eyes look exactly like the eyes of those girls that have 400 dollar lash extensions!!! This is an amazing product and is at awesome price for what it does!!

2 out of 5 stars Disappointed   April 24, 2008
After reading all about this product and seeing that it was rated highly by Sephora, I ordered it w/ high expectations & like many women, many, many trials of other mascaras...this was just average for me...it clumped but not as much as the Lancome "best selling in the world" mascara which also disappointed me...there must be something funky about my lashes because it just didn't work any better than Maybelline Great Lash...and it's so much more expensive. I highly recommend Bobbi Brown Everything Mascara (I think that's the name of it, definitely Bobbi Brown)...it clumps the least of all mascaras I've tried in my 38 years on this planet!!! Good luck!

5 out of 5 stars The BEST   April 23, 2008
I LOVE this mascara have been using it for 2 years. get it, it's the best!

2 out of 5 stars flashy name for an average product   April 10, 2008
I don't understand the hype behind diorshow. It is just like maybelline great lash, only with a giant brush and inflated pricetag. I have small eyes, and I find that the HUGE wand always jabs my eyelid and gets mascara on it. Once the mascara is on your lashes, it does stay put and doesn't smudge. Also, the mascara has a pleasant clean scent. That is a plus, and redeems diorshow to a 2 star rating.

But that's about it. I didn't see any glamorous off-the-catwalk look. And I find it difficult to use the brush on my eyelashes when they are curled beforehand. I am happy to go back to my maybelline mascara.
