4 out of 5 stars Photoshop Elements 6 somewhat of a disappointment   September 30, 2008

Photoshop Elements 6 turned out to be a disappointment as compared to Photoshop Elements 4 as far as the photo editing part is concerned.

There are some improvements in how the tools are accessed but the basic color scheme for which no changes were found under preferences have fonts that are too small and a fairly dark background which makes it difficult to see the down arrows on the pull down boxes. Missing is also the Open file icon where it can easily be accessed. The File pull down menu has been shifted to the right. Compared to other Windows software that is a deviance that annoys. Adobe would have done a lot better by not making these changes for the worse.

Read the description, however totally missed the fact that the item was an [Old Version].

Real pain to have to search out and find all the "Fine Print."

4 out of 5 stars Great software with a price tag that makes you smile   September 21, 2008
For what you pay, this is absolutely a bargain software. It's not short of functions at all. You have the option to learn all the advanced techniques depends on what you need it for.
Although the album creater function is not important to me, plenty of people will find that valueable.
There are two things I don't like are:
1) It did not come with a manual (it's still a good deal).
2) It only supports 16-bit color depth in some features (global editing). You will need to do so first and then convert to 8-bit mode for local changes to ensure the best quality output.

3 out of 5 stars Never Got It   September 20, 2008

It may be a fine product, or it may not be. It was sent to my old address by Amazon - my error, they said. It was supposed to be forwarded by someone to my new address in Utah. I haven't received it yet. BE CAREFUL with the 1-step ordering - it's so easy because they keep your credit card # on file. I didn't even realize I had finished ordering it without changing the address, but I wanted to finish the order the next morning. I found out that next morning via email that I had ordered it, but it was on its way to my old address.
Amazon representatives haven't helped.
BE CAREFUL - I will buy Elements 7 since I have waited so long anyway, but not from Amazon.

4 out of 5 stars Good product so far, good price.   September 20, 2008

We have a PCI Sprint card. Sprint customer service was completely useless while we installed the router (they even told us the card would not be able to work with the router- WRONG). Airlink was only slightly less useless. After a few hours of frustration, my husband restarted the computers, disconnected the router, took out the card- and then put everything back together and- ta-dah- it started working! It's a little bit slower than having the card inserted in the desk top directly, but overall, we're pretty satisfied so far! It's MUCH cheaper than the alternatives!
