We have needed to get a good knife set for quite some time and I decided a butcher block knife set was the way to go. But I was turned off by the high prices and afraid they wouldn't meet our expectations so I never would buy one. After reading many reviews on this set, I took a chance and purchased it. I am not a big Rachael Ray fan, so to speak, I don't care to watch talk shows. So I didn't purchase this set just because of her name, but I am now a fan of her products. The knife set is fabulous and worth every penny! I love how easy it is to clean both the block and the knives, they are extra sharp and so comfortable to use. Even my husband likes them, and he is a stickler for knives always being sharp and how they should handle and cut. Now he just has to teach me how to use them correctly without cutting my fingers - which I have done twice....

Good Knifes, need to be sharpened right away, once that is done they work great. Now the block is not that great, tips back and forth just not to sturdy.

These are the best knifes I have ever used. My fiancee got them for me over a year ago. They feel nice in your hand and have great balance. They are a handwash only item. All of the knifes are great in this set and are delivered very sharp. They slice right thru meat with hardly any pressure.
I highly recommend purchasing the diamond fingers knife sharpener to keep your knifes sharp. All knifes get dull after they are used. The sharpener is easy to use and makes these knifes great. A dull knife is a dangerous knife!

This is the first Rachael Ray product I ever purchased. I couldn't even spell her name right before! Both my husband and I love it! The one we use most often is definitely the East and West knife which is good for cutting almost anything. The bread knife is very good as well and we use it to cut bread that is hard as a rock (you know those French bread after a couple of days) and it does a very nice job! We don't use the other knives as often, but why only purchase one or two when you can get the whole set for just a little bit more?
