Product Description
Here are the facts:The United States has released 425 terrorists from Guantanamo, at least 50 of whom have returned to the battlefield to fight our troops. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both say they're fiscally responsible. But each has called for $1 trillion in tax increases over the next ten years -- and dressed them up as tax cuts! Mainstream Media has been given marching orders from the Society of Professional Journalists: never refer to "Islamic terrorists" or "Muslim terrorists." And they are obeying! Whenever our brave agents disrupt a terror plot, The media dismisses the culprits as a gang of idiots -- lulling us into a false sense of security. If the liberals win the 2008 election, they will cripple talk radio -- forcing stations to give equal time to left-wing programs, and insisting that liberals play a key role in station management. Up to a quarter of all state pension funds in the United States are invested in companies that are helping Iran, Syria, North Korea, or the Sudan -- for a total of nearly $200 billion. The Do-Nothing Congress is still doing nothing -- and the worst offenders are the presidential candidates Clinton, Obama, and McCain, who never show up for their day jobs as senators . . . except to pick up their $165,000 paycheck! Is it any wonder that Americans feel fleeced at every turn? As more and more critical problems develop that need national attention, the White House and Congress appear to be AWOL. Who's calling the shots instead? Big business, big government, big labor, and big lobbyists. And their self-serving agendas are doing nothing to help the ever-increasing number of American people who are losing their homes, paying credit card interest rates higher than 25 percent, and finding their jobs increasingly outsourced to foreign countries. In this hard-hitting call to arms, Dick Morris and Eileen McGann reveal the hundreds of ways American tax-payers are routinely fleeced -- by our own government; by foreign countries like Dubai that are gobbling up American interests and spending millions to influence government decisions and American public opinion; by Washington lobbying firms that are pushing the agendas of corrupt foreign dictators on Capitol Hill; and by hedge-fund billionaires collecting huge tax breaks courtesy of the IRS. With their characteristic blend of sharp analysis and insider insight, Morris and McGann call offenders of all kinds on the carpet -- and offer practical agendas we all can follow to help turn the tide.

informative, pages of references September 5, 2008 Morris has written a book that gives the Americans something to think about before you punch that ballot in November.
Although he does touch on what life under an Obama administration would be like, he also hits on present abuse of power in the Bush administration.
I found the format of the book helpful. Each chapter is clearly a subject in and of itself. In each chapter, Morris explains the subject, then gives specific examples of where the political leaders have gone wrong. There are boxes separate in each couple of pages that highlight the most important points he is making. The end of the book have hundreds of references a reader could check to see if what he is writing is true.
This book is NOT just about Obama as others have suggested. Morris has mentioned how Halliburten Corporation is taking advantage of OUR money by overcharging millions of dollars, demanding their employees are housed in a 5 star hotel in Iraq, and even charging the government 100. for each 15 pounds of laundry being done. Once chapter discusses how a known terriost was captured, kept in Cuba, then released because he used a false name, only to write letters and laugh at us while he began killing American soldiers. It opens your eyes to the TRUTH of many subjects, and how our tax dollars are being spent.
I found the book fascinating, and gave me a point of reference of the issues, including illegal immagration, health care, social security, etc, and how Obama, Clinton, Bush and McCain have voted in the past. He mentions that all three - Clinton, Obama and McCain left their PAID JOBS in the senate to run for office, and never gets a cent docked from their pay!. I think I want that job!!
If the reader can look at this book as a means to begin to question what canidates stand for, and use it as a starting point to truly study the policies, then maybe the right person will be put into office (if that is even possible in the selection this year).
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is open and would like to read the proof of various subjects that will be discussed during the debates to come.
A GREAT book for paranoids! September 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you enjoy made up political drivel and totally off the cuff research, you will LOVE this book. If you think "liberals" and Democrats are the reason you can't sleep at night, this will make you sleep a little better. If you think taxes, or lack of them, can cure all of the world's problems, look no further. Take a big idiot, combine with a smaller idiot, and voila! The paranoid's handbook of cliches, half-truths, and right wing propaganda. The really wonderful thing about this book is the title. It's one of the feelings you'll have trying to read it. Mind you I said "one of the feelings". When you consider how many people take this kind of junk seriously, you'll be sick to your stomach.
Disorganized, confused political drivel August 1, 2008 9 out of 23 found this review helpful
Here is another book which should not have seen the light of day. Dick Morris, who has flipped and flopped between both sides of the political spectrum, seems to have finally thrown his lot with the likes of Newt Gingrich, Ollie North, Gordon Libby, and Rush Limbaugh who think what they say is the absolute truth simply because they said it. Facts don't matter.
Until he wrote this book, I somewhat liked Dick Morris. Now, I am not sure if I can read his writing again! While he has had influential jobs and held the attention of presidents in the past, he no longer seems to be politically astute - sorry to say.
Somewhat blunt and caustic, but a good read anyhow July 9, 2008 40 out of 69 found this review helpful
Just like his interviews on the TV talk shows, Dick Morris comes across as blunt and caustic in this book. Although the book is eye opening and to some level interesting, especially the chapter on what an Obama presidency will result in, it gets a little tiring at times. I found myself putting it down because of the tired same old sarcasm about individuals and groups who are fleecing the American people. And, he doesn't pick on just Democrats, he gives the Republicans a piece his mind also with the inefficient business operations in Iraq, i.e. Halliburton. Other chapters are focused on the Democrats undoing of the Patriot Act if Obama is elected, the subprime lending fiasco and others. If you like Dick Morris, this book is for you (of course). If you are just wondering, I would recommend Newt Gingrich's Real Change instead. The information provided is more readable and provides more facts and data to back up his case.
Finally, Some REAL Content! June 26, 2008 8 out of 20 found this review helpful
Good job, Dick...it's gratifying to see a work like this come along, especially now. You've given ALL of us something to think about by presenting hard facts instead of more political platitudes designed by big money to placate the proletariat.
