Procedural October 7, 2008 I believe the author offers his own beliefs with genuine sincerity. The challenge is in the delivery in which only he "sees" the Divine. The cd which came with the book is charming but a tad overbearing. I could not bear reading quite a bit of the book. That is my issue when the author tells me I must do things their way or suffer no enlightenment. (My interpretation).
Oh great Divine I am gouging my eyes out.. October 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If I've read a worse, more over the top, new age book I don't know what it is. This book was agonizing to get through. Repetitive... repetitive... repetitive. I don't know if the author was trying to use hypnotic suggestion or what but he would repeat the same sentences or phrases over and over again.
The book seems to be about teaching yourself something the author calls "Soul Language". Supposedly, we can all speak it. We can all understand it... well not quite. You see if you can train yourself to speak in soul language and others around you know how to translate soul language then they can understand you- only they may each understand you differently... and you might not really understand what you're saying yourself.
I read a LOT of books on Spirituality and religion so Eastern thought is nothing new to me. In fact, I am very well read on Zen but this "Soul Wisdom" was too far fetched even for me and I am one of the most open minded people you'll ever meet.
That being said the packaging is nice and it comes with a free CD. I have no idea what's on it since I never opened mine. By the time I finished this book I was hoping my soul would never speak to me or anyone else.
Another oooOOOOooooOOOO Book October 2, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book was not at all what I expected it to be. It is long, 300 pages, but it seems even longer as you read it's convoluted twists and turns. The author claims to be Divine. He claims that by reading certain passages, the Divine Wisdom will enter your body. He claims that when you, too, become divine, then YOU can heal others as well. Singing? Chanting? The book even comes with a CD of the author singing. I played it in the background on my computer at work and, frankly, found it annoying.
Dear Divine Golden Light Ball and Golden Liquid Spring of Divine Soul Language, please return to my soul. Hao. Hao. Hao. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Personally, I do not believe that by chanting certain passages will cure my spleen or cleanse my kidneys. In fact, I think it could almost be considered malpractice. Maybe this works for some people, but buyer be alert.
Good Book for the Spiritual Seeker, A Little Too Much Hype September 28, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you're not completely in-tune with yourself you my find this book boasting or too personal to deal with. It is a little abstract for all but the most devout of spiritual practitioners. I find a lot of information and references to his other books a bit distracting. It sounds more like a sales pitch than a book of wisdom. I am writing this review not having completely finished reading the book. If I find otherwise or discover some special ending I will revise this review. The reading of the first chapter was fairly easy. It slowed down from there on. I think someone who would appreciate this book would be someone who doesn't even need it. I don't know who this book was written for. It is an expression of the author. Like waving your hand. But you don't have to pay to see someone wave their hand. The best things in life are free.
Only for true believers September 28, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was curious about this book because of the brief description I had read. I figured that I am pretty open minded, and have heard about plenty of "way out there" things. This book is quite unusual because of the claims that the author makes. Dr. Sha makes. He seems very sincere, so you do want to believe that he is telling you the truth. The more I read, the weirder it sounded. I felt uncomfortable w/ the examples in the book. Of course I wanted to believe it was all true and good, but I am not easily fooled, and made the choice that this book wasn't for me.
If you are already a true believer of Dr. Sha's, then this book is for you. Anybody who isn't already a believer isn't going to become one by reading this book.
