Product Description Here is the first in a new series of spellbinders written specifically for teens. Bethany Salem is a pretty normal 16-year old, except for one thing ... she's a Witch! When her boyfriend Joe dies in a mysterious car accident, she vows to find his killer. But when she calls on the magickal Hounds of the Wild Hunt to catch the murderer, the members of the Witches' Night Out coven get more than they bargained for. Will they catch Joe's killer in time, or will the killer catch them?

Enjoyable June 4, 2008 Meant for teens but this old lady read it and enjoyed it. And the day to day pagan aspects are blended in the story well and very realistic. But then Silver is a bit of an expert on her path of paganism. And she always writes with integrity, clarity, simplicity and honesty.
I Like This January 8, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had read Silver's To Stir a Magick Cauldron and had heard of her fiction and I got all 3 of the Witches Chillers on the same day because I could afford it. While not exactly cheap, that's about the average price of a regular mass market paperback. It baffles me how most people can't sheell out 5 bucks or so for a paperback. A clever, hip account of a fictionalized coven of witches. Though called Witches Chillers, I think this would only scare a Christian or those unsure of their spirituality. Those who are unsure of their faith get petrified at any strong views, regardless of what the thing is. A cool series of books for younger people interested in the occult. I would give it 5 stars but it is not a classic. The equivalent of a B horror film I guess.

This book is very contradictory to what Silver Ravenwolf says in her other books.
Weakest of the series January 5, 2003 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was not particularly impressed with how this book began. Indeed, Bethany was obsessed with revenge, cold towards her so called friends, acted like a spoiled brat, and did not seem to care what the results of her magick might be.Thankfully, the writing style was easy to read and the story was fast-paced, and as the book went along Bethany became more likeable as she came out of her insular obsession with hatred and began opening up to her friends, working for good, and learning more about the true capabilities for and uses of magick. I can understand how someone crazy with grief might seek revenge; however, the portrayal of Bethany's hatred at the beginning doesn't show Wiccans in the most positive light... By the end of the book this changes; however, hopefully people won't stop reading at the first few chapters and come away with the wrong idea. The story itself is melodramatic and farfetched, even for a thriller. I had to stretch my suspension of disbelief. I found the ending rather unsatisfactory as two characters are removed from the series for what seems to be no good reason. Still, for all its flaws, the book did succeed in entertaining me enough to pick up the next in the series. I have found that the two following books are great improvements on this one. However they make better sense if you've read this one... Don't judge the series by this book, particularly by the beginning.
If only... March 12, 2002 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been looking for an author to replace my favorite - L.J. Smith. I picked this one up because I have read through one of Ravenwolf's books and thought it was quite decent. It, however, was nonfiction and this is fiction. There are errors as others have pointed out and it seems to have skipped the good old fashioned workshop phase. I believe it would have greatly improved the writing. There was a storyline here. I just feel that it fell short of what it could have been...I suggest the relatively new (?) talent of Isobel Bird and her series Circle of Three.
