4 out of 5 stars Great for a changing table!   August 18, 2008
All the complaints about card quality are true, and it doesn't rotate on its own. That having been said, my baby from 1-3 months (he's only 3 months now) loves this thing. Changing the cards every couple of weeks is no big deal, and he really loves to stare at the patterns. Compared to the wind-ups that only keep baby interested for the 20 seconds or so that it stays wound, this is a great buy.

Worth the money.

5 out of 5 stars favorite newborn toy   July 24, 2008
I put this over my son's (9 weeks old now) changing table and he loves it. He will stare, goo, and reach up for it for a long time. He likes this thing more than his Tiny Love play gym. It is well worth the $$

5 out of 5 stars Great for my newborn   July 17, 2008
My daughter (10 weeks) absolutely loves this mobile. I put it over her changing table, and she will smile and gurgle at it for the longest time. It's her favorite toy! I also taped a few of the extra panels on the inside of her bassinet, so that she has something to look at when she is awake.

I agree that it seems cheaply made, but my baby doesn't care, and that's all that matters! The mobile is suspended by plastic links that don't allow it to rotate completely, so I would recommend hanging the mobile with a piece of string so that it can spin all the way around. Overall, though, great product!

4 out of 5 stars Custom Modern Mobile   July 16, 2008

I really like the designs on the cards and it was enjoyable piecing together my own custom mobile for our nursery. The mobile looks fantastic with our mod white crib and fits in perfectly with the rest of the room.

I give this product four stars instead of five due to the following:

1. I agree with others who say the cards should be made of thicker plastic or wood. They're suitably sturdy and are unlikely to be damaged by regular use, but I would have preferred a bit more heft. Perhaps the company designed them this way so they'd move more easily?

2. I also think a small motor would have been nice. This mobile moves for a minute or so when I give it a push and then it settles again. A tiny quiet motor would have been a bonus. Either that or a more dynamic manual motion design. I think part of the reason for the absence of a motor is it encourages the baby to kick and bat at the mobile to make it move, so that's a good thing, but before baby can do that it's going to mostly hang there decoratively.

Cool mobile. Could be a bit better designed. Definitely buy if you don't like the fancy flashing noisy spinning plush (and ugly) mobiles that make up most of the rest of the common market. This one is lovely and your baby will make it move eventually.

4 out of 5 stars Great Item   July 14, 2008
Overall it is a great item, but I wish for the price it did come with something that spins it and plays music. I love the colors and pictures.. my 6wk old is already trying to focus on them :)
