I got this "game" at the same time I got the leapster 2 and a few other "games". This is the first system we got out 3 yr old girl. I think the Mr. Pencil game is nice, and my kid enjoys it. However with hindsight being twenty I would not have gotten this game.
Leapster 2 comes with a drawing program on it. Both Mr. Pencil and the already loaded program come with coloring pages. Mr. Pencil's are a little more basic, the loaded one is more intrakit. Both have stamps to use, Mr. Pencil's stamps are just the stamped image, the loaded version has a lot more stamps, and they move and make noises once placed on the picture. Mr. Pencil has the option for your child to mix their own colors and learn about making a different color. The loaded version has colors and patterns to choose from. Mr. Pencil has you trace things to learn to draw, the loaded version is just coloring, no tracing.
So I think the loaded version is more user friendly for coloring, and since it comes on the system you can save a few bucks and not buy the Mr. pencil. If you only want to color. Mr. Pencil has a few more activities and games within it. My 3 yr old like to color though and the loaded version really is better for just that.

In theory, this is a great game. However, my 5 and 4 year old girls seldomly pick it when they have their choice of leapster games. It's cute, but the options are limited.

My mom bought our just turned 3 year old a Leapster 2 for Christmas. He really enjoyed the Creativity Castle game that came with it and we were looking for something to build on those concepts (coloring, drawing, stamps, etc.). This game is perfect for him right now because he's not coordinated enough to play any of the "video game" type Leapster games, but he's doing really well with the stylus and overall just loves this. Great to have in the car on long trips. Highly recommend.

I ordered from AmericaRx February 10th and it stated that this product will be shipped to me by the 17th of February. So yesterday February 17th I wrote to the company since Amazon wrote me saying there is no statement about this company shipping this product out. So I wrote to AmericaRx and the next day which is today the 18th they said that this product is not in stock. And if you look even at this moment today it says under the product written in green IN STOCK. So anyways not happy at all with this company! I order from Amazon all the time, and this is the first for me.

I got my 3 yr old a leapster for Christmas and a few games. This game being on of them. She LOVES this game. It is not too difficult for her at all. She loves mixing the colors to make new ones. This game has tons of things to do on it for several years of playing!
