| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Jolly Roger sails again, in all its ruthless splendor. Pirate ships were usually armed private vessels commissioned by one country with letters of marquee - commissions granted to ship owners allowing attacks on an enemy nation's war ships or commerce. Seamen serving on pirate ships were not paid in regular wages, but in shares of the loot taken from ships they had attacked. The greater the number of ships attacked, the more loot to be divided among the pirates. This kit boasts the fine detail of its fully formed sails, rigging blocks, detailed cannons, and includes its own display stand. Plastic cement and paint are required for assembly, and are sold separately.

Re-issue of older kit, French frigate La Flore October 23, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a re-issue of one of Lindberg's older kits, a 30-gun (8-pdr I think) French frigate "La Flore", to try and cash-in on different things that are "piratey" (as is most of their other kits). The kit itself is actually a fairly decent flush-decked kit. This kit was actually presented to JFK as a gift and stands in the Oval Office. There are a few details in the construction that make the kit a bit less nice, such as the hull construction (separate halves) and the after-transom fitting problems. Otherwise, if you have the skill you can hook up the steering wheel to the rudder. The sails are a soft plastic mold, as are the other Lindberg kits. Not a bad kit.
