 Perfect pitchers for my refrigerator space December 3, 2008
I came back to purchase more of these pitchers as a gift for my Mom and found some very poor reviews, so I'm writing this review in defense of the product.
I see several poor reviews on these pitchers based on SHIPPING problems. That's a quality control problem for Amazon to solve. My pitchers arrived well packaged and unbroken, so not all shipping experiences are bad. Amazon has excellent customer service and whenever I have reported a shipping problem they have always reacted in a positive manner to correct the problem.
This space is a PRODUCT review, and here is mine. I LOVE these pitchers. I make different types of ice tea in each pitcher several times a week, and have had them many months now, and they are as perfect as the day I received them. They are heavy duty glass, and the design is perfect for my refrigerator door shelves, so they don't take up valuable space in the body of my refrigerator. My Mom has a poorly designed side-by-side refrigerator with very restricted space. She also has the grandkids over all the time who like to drink lemonade or koolade. She usually ends up throwing out any unused drink since the pitchers she owns don't fit or take up too much room in her refrigerator. These little pitchers (50-54 oz each is my estimate) will fit in her refrigerator door.
I take the pitcher lid off before pouring so I have not experienced the frustration that some have had with trying to pour with the lid on. It really wasn't a show stopper for me.
I just think these pitchers are great work horses, and the design is just what I needed. The price is very reasonable for two heavy glass pitchers, too.

When I opened the outer Amazon box, I noticed glass shards throughout the packing material. When I opened the inner box from the manufacturer, both handles were broken off. Worse, not only were they broken off, they were actually MISSING! Clearly, they were not damaged during shipping; someone at the factory purposely packaged two broken jugs and shipped them off. DO NOT ORDER!

Take a chance... as that is what you will be doing.
These jugs are not packaged properly for shipping inside their own slim box with only a slim piece of cardboard in between which does not keep them from hitting each other and everything else during shipping. And Amazon may or may not package it accordingly either.
Had to return mine due to a broken jug and will not take another chance for myself and Amazon.
Either buy them from a store near you or take a chance.

the packaging is paper thin cardboard & paper thin cardboard seperating the two bottles. I would be amazed the glass can survive any type shipping, MINE DIDN'T. the manufacturer needs to protect their product better if they want to sell it online.

These two glass containers were perfect for what I needed. What was that need you might ask? I wanted ice coffee during the hot summer months. The glass doesn't absorb the coffee stains or scent, easy to clean, and fits very well in the door of my refrigerator. The top lid doesn't fit snugly, but it keeps the coffee from smelling up the leftover food and it keeps the leftover food scents out of the coffee. Again, my need was to keep ice coffee in the refrigerator and I didn't want it to take up a lot of space. These containers did just that.
