I have two female cats - a 6 year old Russian Blue and a 10 month old American Short Hair. Both of my cats are abolutely terrified of this item. At first they seemed curious, but when I shook it, they glared and stared, and slowly edged away from it. I believe they were scared of the size of it. The fingers are way too long, making it difficult to control. The pom pom balls on the end are also too large, and according to the cats, they smell funny. This "toy" has been lying on my floor for 2 months, but not without my many diligent efforts to get them interested. I've tried dipping the pom poms in catnip, and also disguising the mitten in a sheet. I suppose if you had a big, fat, aggresive male cat this might be a good toy.
