Great Value and a Quality Product November 10, 2008 The Midwest Cat Playpen is a great solution for our multi-cat household. It is a roomy, comfortable, and secure enclosure that can easily be moved from room to room or outdoors. It took approximately 5 minutes for my sixteen year old son to assemble. I was very pleased with the design - double doors open on top and bottom, and the bottom tray slides out for easy cleaning. My senior cat loves the cozy cat bed that is included. Shop around, but I don't think you will find a better value.
poor design, barely adequate October 30, 2008 My husband had a hard time putting this together. Within one week the lip on the side of the plastic floor tray ripped. It was very hard to get it in and out too. The worst part however is the 3 little shelves. I have only had ONE ten pound cat in this thing and TWO of the shelves have already collaposed. I managed to "rig" the middle one by inserting a yard stick under it to prop it up so hopefully it won't collapse again. The little metal hooks that attach to the side of the crate to support the shelves are not completely secured to the sides and only support a part of the shelf anyway. I would not recommend this crate to anyone. The only good thing I can say about it are the wheels. It is easy to roll around.
Does not seem safe October 26, 2008 Poor engineering and poor quality leaves lots of gaps where kittens can get stuck and loose/protruding parts that could injure them. Several of the vertical wires were unattached to the frame, a kitten who fell against them could scratch or seriously hurt themselves. Shelves are poorly attached and tip forward with pressure (like a cat jumping onto them). Plastic shelves have no traction for kittens that are unable to jump well enough from level to level. This product may work well enough for older cats, or for temporary containment, but we were looking for something that our young kittens would be happy in while we were at work and we did not feel good about trusting their safety to this cage, nor did we feel it would give them enough room or ability to play.
Rickety and unstable October 16, 2008 This was a huge disappointment after the other quality Midwest products we've enjoyed. It was incredibly rickety and unstable. I was really worried the ends would collapse inward, so I wouldn't even put my cat in it!
Great cat cage September 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This cage is great! It was easy to put together, it is quite roomy and, surprisingly, our cat loves it. She would rather be in the cage than not! Definitely worth the money.
