Useless!December 2, 2008 Tried it right on top of the kitty litter box and by the dog bed -- no 'freshening' whatsoever. The weather has been warm and cold, and I've wet the crystal to encourage it, nothing makes it useful.
The packaging indicates the manufacturer is trying any idea to sell this. Under the label was another label indicating this was a refrigerator odor reducer (and there was something else under that!). Tried it in fridge for the heck of it -- and guess what, nothing doing there either.
