Product Description Feliway, also known as Comfort Zone New 75 mL bottle for same price! Feliway spray can help stop cat spraying. Both male and female cats, because of hormonal and behavior problems, can start spraying urine on objects or areas. Feliway contains pheromone-like substances which discourages this behavior when it is applied to the area the pet has sprayed. One depression of the Feliway pheromone spray nozzle should be applied approximately 4" from the site, 8" from the floor. Only one spray per application site is necessary. Urine marks and prominent objects should be treated one to two times daily for 30 days. Maintenance application every two to three days may be necessary in some situations. Try F.O.N. instead - it really works! October 10, 2008 I used Fellway when my son's cat came to live with us. The problem with Fellway is that you have to reapply constantly and it became very expensive, and apparently did not stop him from using the same spot to eliminate himself.
My vet recommended F.O.N. (feline odor neutralizer). If is inexpensive and if your cat urinates, you pat the spot with paper towels sponing up the excess urine, shake the bottle, spray and that's all you have to do. This product leaves an elusive pleasant smell until it dries and then there is no odor at all. I have used this on several areas where my son's cat has urinated and he never goes back to the same spot because there is no smell. He now uses the litter box which is a blessing (not sure whether it is due to F.O.N. or whether he finaly realized that cats are supposed to use the litter box). I would suggest anyone that has problems with a cat that urinates where he is not supposed to or sprays to try this product.
I think the cost is around $7 a bottle (you can buy it over the internet and from Amazon) and it does not have to be reapplied. A bottle lasts a long time. You just use it once and it should eliminate the problem.
I think I have tried every deodorizer on the market. My vet is right. This is the best one I have ever seen.
If you want to see more reviews regarding this product just type in F.O.N. on Amazon and you will see what cat lovers think of it.
really seems to be working October 6, 2008 My wife and I have four cats, one of which had recently began peeing on the bed. Yeah, not good. We tried several things to get him to stop but he kept doing it. Most people said we should get rid of him (and we were nearing the point where we were afraid that he might have to be put down). Luckily, we kind of stumbled across this Feliway stuff and figured we had to try everything we could. Well, I can't say it stopped him completely, but we've only had 2 incidents in the four months we've been using this stuff. Both times were when we did not spray the bed that day. While it says you only have to spray for a week or so, it is our bed and the sheets get changed regularly, so we find it's better to spray it every morning after we get up. Also, if a cat is peeing somewhere, it will continue to go there until it cannot smell the urine anymore (and they have a much stronger sense of smell than we do) so you have to treat that first or else the feliway will not really work. I suggest something called Anti-Icky Poo. Stupid name but it works miracles. It's and enzymic cleaner and works almost instantly. When used in conjunction with the feliway you shouldn't have any problems controlling unwanted 'marking'..... unless your dog pounces on a sleeping cat and literally scares the pee out of him. While comical to see, it's not as fun to clean up.
Works like magic! August 26, 2008 Great stuff - helped with improper urination and also made some of my shy cats less shy. I will continue using for sure.
Not seeing any good results August 7, 2008 I've been using this stuff on a new futon to keep a cat from urinating on it. So far it's not working. I've sprayed it 3 times so far and the cat still isn't backing off.
Feliway Spray July 30, 2008 Great product for calming a nervous cat and correcting behavior problems. No more 'accidents' on the bed!
