Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
French Fry Cutter, Thin & Thick With 2 Stainless Steel Blades, 25 & 49 Hole.

Amazon.com Review
This lightweight cutter divides a potato into its french-fry essence in a jiffy. One blade creates up to 49 3/8-inch fries with a single lever-push. The other creates up to 25 half-inch fries. You'll get those numbers, however, only if you precisely shape a large potato to fit the bed. The bed's size is the cutter's only drawback. Even if you cut a large potato to fit the head, the fry length is at most 3-1/2 inches. That length, however, is ideal for carrot, cucumber, and zucchini batons to assemble a vegetable tray around a bagna cauda, an Italian dipping sauce of olive oil, butter, garlic, and anchovies. And such batons get you halfway to a pretty dice for a vegetable soup. Hand wash. --Fred Brack

4 out of 5 stars excellent for a beginner "CHEF"   December 16, 2008
I purchase the progressive veetable/french fry cutter for my 14 year old daughter who is now attending a specialized culinary art high school, enjoying her H.S years in becoming a chef. This is a wonder product and very well suitable for slicing quick veggies and fries.. I highly recommend it to all those young teenagers who are just starting to learn the "how to".. great product...
I give it 4 1/2 stars!!!!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS...
RESPECTFULLY,
ADELAIDA

1 out of 5 stars needs too much muscle   December 14, 2008
My daughter and I were not able to use this cutter at all. You've got to have a lot of muscle to push anything through the blades, and we simply couldn't do it at all.

5 out of 5 stars good fries   December 12, 2008
The cutter works great - the smaller size is better. Makes great french fries and comes apart nicely so can clean it - great product.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Fries Everytime   December 8, 2008
I bought this item more than 8 years ago. Still works like a champ. You have to cut the potatoes to a smaller size to fit. But not a big sacrifice to get perfect fries everytime. Cleaning is no big deal. Take it a part, rinse the pieces and pop into the diswasher on the top rack. Put back together and keep going.

4 out of 5 stars Great for the price   October 23, 2008

I had an old french fry cutter that I finally tossed because it was rusty (yuck). I got this one, and have to say that I am very happy with it. I am surprised that some people wrote that it takes quite a bit of force. I was expecting it to take some muscle, so I put my potato in there and gave it a hefty pull. The potato went through like butter and flew halfway across the counter. I didn't hardly use any force on the next spud, and it went through like butter again. This time it didn't fly away. I am a 55-year-old, 100 pound lady, not the incredible hulk! It would be nice if the base was just an inch longer but for the price, I will cut my potatoes in half. It still makes nice size fries. In fact, I prefer the shorter, stumpier fries. They look more homemade and fit on a plate better.
