 Most Assembly Required December 9, 2008
I bought this sundial for my dad for Christmas. I just received it in the mail a few days ago, and I wondered why it was in such a small box. I opened the box to find that I needed to assemble EVERYTHING. I read the instructions (that were extremely confusing), looked at my parts, then studied the little 2-inch picture they gave me. Half an hour later, I figured out that they sent screws instead of bolts, and that was the reason that my sundial kept falling apart. After trying to assemble it multiple times, I looked at my arrow (the stick part of it) and noticed that the gold paint was being scraped off because of the cast iron, and the paint on the cast iron was chipped off! I may not know a lot about cast iron but what I do know is that it's not supposed to break off like that.
This is definitely not a gift that I'm going to give anyone I care about this Christmas, and it was a waste of my time and money. I wish it had better instructions and all the parts were correct, and that all the parts didn't get messed up. Maybe then I would like it better. Overall this product is not worth the $51.00! Maybe $8.

turned out to be a great gift for a sis that has everything and loves working in her backyard...it needs a pedestal, so buyers may want to consider that issue.
