Product Description 17"W x 39"L, weighs only 11 lbs, but holds up to 500 lbs! Portable Pet Ramp. Perfect for the side entrance of vans, beds or couches. Ribbed, rubberized, non-slip surface. Lightweight and portable ramp makes it easy for any pet to walk, unassisted, in and out of beds, cars, vans, and RVs. Perfect for aging pets or muddy, exhausted game dogs. Universal grips fit all vehicles.
Amazon.com Injured and aging pets can find even shallow climbs or descents prohibitive. This HalfSTEP ramp, with its portable design and helpful texture, reduces struggle for dogs, cats, and pot-bellied pigsand the owners who otherwise have to lift them. A scaled-down version of the company's full ramp, the HalfSTEP is suitable for use with cars, RVs, and vans (though not intended for SUVs or trucks). Constructed from polypropylene and glass fiber, the ramp stays put with a rubberized grip. A ribbed, non-slip surface helps pets feel secure and keep their footing. It also reduces arthritis and dysplasia pain, lowers the chances of injury, and cuts down on back strain. The ramp is weather-resistant, easy to clean with soap and water, and designed not to trap odors. Measuring 39 by 17 by 1-3/4 inches, it weighs 11 pounds and holds up to 500 pounds at a time. --Emily Bedard

Good Ramp but Not for Use in Most Cars! January 18, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this for my 10 year old, 80 lb dog who is arthritic and diabetic. I have a Mazda hatchback; without a ramp it is very difficult for her to haul herself up into the back seat.
I gave this ramp four stars but that is only for the product & the company itself (ie construction, perceived durability, quick shipping, etc...) NOT for the usefullness of the product, at least in my car, which is not an SUV or particularly high. I give it two stars for usefullness and ease of use.
The ribbed surface has good traction and the construction seems good. This ramp is too short to be used to climb into the hatchback. The angle is too steep and there is no "lip" to secure it. But, the ramp is too wide to fit in the rear door so we just cannot use it. I will try to make use of it in the house or back porch. I recommend going to a store to try this out before purchasing.

It is solid, sturdy, and safe for our dogs to walk up and down from our bed and up to and off of our furniture. I can clean it easily. It has a good grip for the dogs footing. For the price and quality it is a great buy!
Less than satisfied August 31, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Although this product is relatively lightweight, it is too short and therefore too steep for use out the back end of a minivan. My dog won't walk up or down it. It would have been nice if it was longer and folded up or expanded.
Pet Ramp Improvements August 13, 2006 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
The pet ramp is basically as described on the web site & has good traction but is too short for my needs. I needed it to help my maltese get up on my bed by herself but she has bad hips & can not manage the steepness. I wish it either came with some kind of folding short legs on the floor end of the ramp or an attachment that would raise the bottom end up 4-6". I also would prefer it about 4" less in width. Otherwise the ramp is sturdy & well made. Thank You, Rena

I use your ramp to help my old dog into my bed, into the bathtub and into my van- he would have had to spend his last years on the floor without the ramp. He can't make it up if its too steep so I devised a lower plastic stool leading to a plastic ice chest. I would love it if you designed a platform to go with your ramp to graduate the steepness. Thanks- I am shocked that something I bought was actually helpful and not that expensive either.
