An attractive hardwood perch provides a sitting place for small finches, orioles and other birds while dining. To allow seed to flow unhindered into feeding ports, Heritage Farms installed a sloped seed hopper and a seed baffle. The feeder holds up to 2-1/2 gallons of birdseed. See-through polycarbonate windows let owners monitor the birdseed levels. Excellent Feeder! December 2, 2008

This was a gift for my mother, who is an avid birdwatcher. She was thrilled about this item....said that it is a lot bigger than the feeder she replaced. She said its' material would make it last, since it's coated with a smooth water-resistant paint on metal, so it's great for all weather. She also likes that she can set the weight on it for a specific animal, so that if it was perched on it, the stand would shut the feeder area, therefore protecting the seed for the birds. She loves it!

This is the second squirrelproof birdfeeder I've bought. The first one lasted 12 years. It's a hoot to watch squirrels try to get the seeds. It's very well made. This model also has a green powdercoat finish that will most likely look better longer. I prefer the pole mount but it also comes with a hanging wire which is nice. This is a quality product that is a joy to own.

Wow, this was disappointing. First, the squirrels kept simply pulling the perch off--easily done since it fits very poorly. I kept trying to find a way to make it stay on, but had no luck. They also managed to jostle the thing around enough that three of the four screws holding the feeder on the post worked their way out. At that point, a couple of squirrels climbed on the roof of the feeder, causing it to flip sideways and actually bend the platform on the top of the pole, leaving the feeder hanging sideways. Note that we live in a city with a fenced in yard--it's not like a bear came and mauled the feeder--the only animals that can get into our yard are squirrels and birds.

My son-in-law wanted a good bird feeder for his back yard. He hasn't been able to put it out yet because of all the snow. I'm hoping it will be a good one an deter the squirrels.
Birds Happy, Squirrels Not! December 21, 2007
I am very happy with the birdhouse. It solved my problems with those very smart squirrels. They have just about given up! I recommend this product.
