Amazon.com Finally a way to keep unwanted animals out of the garden and protect your yard, fruit trees, vegetables and flowers from hungry or destructive creatures. Cats, dogs, deer, rabbits, large birds, and many others. The patented Scarecrow motion-activated sprinkler is the smartest scarecrow ever invented. When it sees an intruder it instantly releases full garden hose water pressure towards the trespasser. The effect is both startling and immediate. Animals quickly get out of the area and avoid it in the future. The ScareCrow motion-activated sprinkler is constructed of durable, high-quality materials, and has been designed to provide many years of reliable service. Side view of spray radius. Click to enlarge. | Top view of spray radius. Click to enlarge. | Using the ScareCrow is easy. Simply attach a standard garden hose to its base, set the ScareCrow in the ground in the area you want to protect, and then turn on the water. Once you switch the unit on, it is ready to go. How does it work? The ScareCrow uses a combination of sudden noise, unexpected movement, and a startling blast of water to create a memorable and unpleasant experience for the trespasser. The animal immediately associates this unpleasant experience with the location, and to avoid similar surprises, learns to avoid the area. If an animal chooses to return, the ScareCrow will be waiting. While a human may flee several steps after activating a ScareCrow, animals are typically affected to a much greater degree. In most cases they run much farther, and stay away longer. Because the unit only triggers when the animal moves, its behavior is difficult for animals to anticipate, making it a very effective deterrent.

Scarecrow July 21, 2008 Product works as advertised, no problems so far. I have not had any deer or other critters in the garden since I installed them. I would give 5 stars if it had an option to use as a sprinkler.
Pond Protection July 21, 2008 This item was the final solution keeping predators from my Koi Pond. Worked better than I hoped. Excellent Product.
Good for what it does July 21, 2008 We've been finding some dog or cat poop in our yard so we decided to try this device. The Scarecrow is fairly easy to set up and connect, and with a couple of tests we had adjusted the spray angle and sensitivity.
A couple of problems we've ran into: 1) With the sensitivity set at a fairly normal level, on a hot day the thing seems to activate very often with no animal present. As a result, we used up 1 9-volt battery after only a week or two. Until I get rechargeable batteries, I've decided to only turn it on at night.
2) The angle for the motion detection is not all that great. As a result we can't actually cover our whole yard (which is pretty durn small) using just one device. We did find one dog/cat poop, but at a different location then where we found them before, so it is "working", but not quite accomplishing what we wanted.
The deer scatter! July 19, 2008 The Scarecrow actually works. It really panics the fawns and the mothers follow the dash back into the woods.
easy to use July 18, 2008 This device was very easy to set up and use. The sensor seems to detect better just to each side of center. I could not adjust the water spray as low to the ground as I wanted, so I turned down the water pressure a little. Otherwise, it seems to be working and I haven't lost any more koi...... yet.
