Cleans Saw Blades August 15, 2008 I read somewhere on the internet that Simple Green would clean saw blades, so I went to Lowes and bought a bottle for about $5.00. I've now cleaned six radial arm and circular saw blades with it, and am very pleased. I poured about half the bottle into a shallow 10" plastic container and submerged each blade, one at a time, and let it soak overnight. As each was soaking, I rubbed an old toothbrush over the blade tips several times. After soaking I just washed each blade and dried it. Presto - they came clean. Surprised me. Now I can clean my blades easily after each project. Don't Let the Non Toxic Label Fool You!!! May 20, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
My four year old sons preschool teacher used this in his classroon and within minutes he had broken out in hives, had itchy watery eyes, and had red splotches all over his face. After the reaction had subsided (With benadryl in hand) I sprayed one spray of this product on the other side of the room that he was in to make sure that indeed this was the culprit. Sure enough within minutes he started to react this time clearing his throat. Do not let the "Non-Toxic" label fool you. After coming home and researching Simple Green contains EGBE, also known as 2-butoxyethanol,. It's a colorless, biodegradable chemical with a fruity odor that acts as a degreaser. The chemical, called ethylene glycol butyl ether or EGBE, is on California's list of toxic air contaminants. Some animal studies indicate that it produces reproductive problems, such as testicular damage, reduced fertility, death of embryos and birth defects. People exposed to high levels of EGBE for several hours have reported nose and eye irritation, headaches, vomiting and a metallic taste in their mouths, studies show

Simple Green Works October 29, 2007 I've been using Simple Green for about five years and it absolutely works. I can't say for certain that it cleans better than a solution of part bleach and water. In fact, I'm sure testing would show that it doesn't. However, I do know that I can use Simple Green without my nose burning or being overly concerned with the solution coming in contact with cloth or skin. It seems to be a "gentle" yet extremely effective cleaner.
I use it to clean my counters, refridgerator, floor, bathtub, toilet, desks and most other things. It can be expensive if you buy it in small spray bottles, so I'm glad to have found this in bulk.
Great cleaner... June 6, 2007 My furnace inspector recommended that I soak the electronic air filter on the furnace (all metal) in Simple Green diluted 1:1 with water for a few hours. Sure enough, all the gunk came right out. No scrubbing required, no expensive furnace cleaner required. Also nice not to have to worry that the product was caustic to me or the environment.
As a Prime customer, I found it easier to just order this online and show up at my door in 2 days than try to figure out which of Home Depot, Walmart, Target, Lowes, Costco, or Fred Meyer actually had it in stock at a reasonable price.
Great Cleaner May 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Simple Green is a great cleaner. It works wonders and the piney smell is great. We just finish using it to wash the walls before painting and it is an easy to use grease remover that does a great job.
