| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com "I put in so much time," Joe sings in a down'n'dirty rasp on "My Love," one of a handful of tracks on Ain't Nothin' Like Me destined to make hopeless R&B romantics swoon. Then, on the same song, he massages away the worries of fans who've been waiting for new Joe material since 2003: "I've got everything under control," he croons. Despite a bunch of release-date pushbacks, Ain't Nothin' Like Me leaves little room for doubt that he does. This is confident, grown-and-sexy music stirred to a pleasing consistency by slick, super-experienced collaborators--Dre, Nas, and G-Unit heavy-hitters Tony Yayo and Young Buck among them. The chugger "Love is Just a Game" grabs hold with grooves that swirl and echo, opener "Get to Know Me" bumps along to a hot Tim & Bob beat, and "Where You At" wins instant sympathy from the lovelorn and the forsaken with its rueful finger-snaps. Frost-free vocals are put to excellent use throughout, and in a way that doesn't emphasize style over honesty. If there's a misstep here, it's the boastful title--any disc of substance deserves a better one. Still, there ain't nothin' else not to like. --Tammy La Gorce

Great overall effort! January 18, 2008 Ok, So, I like, So, I heard this song called "My love" on the radio and fell in love. The sound was great and what I think R&B was missing. Since I am a Joe fan, I decided to purchase the cd and I didn't regret it. I love this cd, I haven't even payed much attention to the written quality but I love the fact that I have played it twice already and not once, did I feel like I had to press "forward". I knew that I liked this cd because usually I love to hear slow songs but this cd has a fair amount of uptempo sounds and they were all great. So, if you are looking for some smooth music-this is for you. If you are looking for some "two step" uptempto sounds-this is for you. This is the cd that you can put in and just let play. A must have if you like some mixture. I must say that the rap duets were great.
review January 18, 2008 i think i cancelled this order due to it being back ordered. this seller communicated well with me.
Filleriffic! 2.5 stars. October 22, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Nice beats, but little substance as usual. The vocals are smooth and lullaby-ish, but you can't deny that it doesn't take much talent to make a CD such as "Ain't Nothing Like Me". On the contrary, I think there are a LOT of CDs out that are like this, following the similar formula:
Guest stars, hot beats and little substance.
What happened to:
All That I Am
And:
Better Days
I think that Joe that was better at crooning is gone forever.
He's gone the way of shallow, rap-collaborating like some of my favorite artists seem to be doing to sell out:
Mariah, R.Kelly (the worst of them all) and the like.
Highlights:
Just Relax If I Was Your Man Where You At?
2.5 stars.
I'm feelin this one! October 7, 2007 I only have one other Joe CD, that's My Name Is.. Joe, but I'm glad I copped this one! I like how it's got a good R&B/rap feel to most of it. After getting two good releases from him, I might have to go back and get some of his earlier stuff some of you guys have been talking about! Definitely making good use of Joe when the girl's around. No doubt.
My favorite songs are Where You At, If I Was Your Man, Feel For You, Get to Know Me and Go Hard.
If you're an R&B or Joe fan, I say get it.
Delivered on time in perfect condition. October 1, 2007 The seller was great. The CD could have been better. Too much rapping not enough singing but he does have a very good voice.
