Since 2002's jaunty Waiting for My Rocket to Come, Jason Mraz has developed into a more mature, well-rounded pop artist. We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things is his most multi-dimensional work yet, covering everything from groove-based material to ballads. While tracks such as "Make It Mine" and "Butterfly" refer back to the catchy style of previous albums, there are many other styles and textures on display here. His duet with Colbie Caillat, "Lucky," for example, explores his folkish, acoustic side, as does the compelling "Details in the Fabric," both of which are excellent songs. Mraz gets a little more experimental on "Coyotes," which toys with a clubby electronica and strangely seems to work, and on "The Dynamo of Volition" for which he employs a hectic, rapping-style of vocal over a typically contagious rhythm. His ballads, such as "Love For A Child", "If It Kills Me" and "Beautiful Mess" (these last two saved for the end) show a more sensitive side and even when his lyrics are occasionally clumsy, Mraz manages to make his point in an emotive way. Easy-going and sunny, but with laudable elements of depth and innovation, this is Mraz at his best so far.--Danny McKenna

 Even more than I expected July 17, 2008
Not having heard anything from Jason Mraz in a while, I was wondering what kind of follow-up he would have to the theatrically mediocre "Mr. A-Z". But when I heard the first single from this album, I knew he was going for a Jack Johnson sound that has become so popular. I wasn't convinced that there would be any depth to the rest of the album, until I listened to it in full. I was blown away by how great each song was, and the duets with Colbie Caillat and James Morrison were a dream to listen to. Jason's vocals have grown, his lyrics are smooth and melodic, and I really enjoy this album after a hard day's work. It was a great leap above any of Jason's previous albums, and a sign that he's growing into a great musician. A great summer album, indeed!

I love this album. Jason Mraz has such a unique style! First time I listened to it...it was ok...by the second and third time...I loved every song on the album.
The best yet July 15, 2008
I have all of Mr. Mraz's CDs, and this one outshines them all. It's intelligent, catchy, and if you can get Coyotes out of your head, you're a better man than I. That's my favorite of this collection, but Live High is a kick-butt anthem, and all the other music is heads above most of the current pop, rock and hip-hop. Beyond all that, the man has a VOICE! Love it.

I didn't really care for the 70s pop flavored tunes on here. I liked I'm Yours and Lucky. And, while the music style of Butterfly wasn't to my taste, I dug the sensuality of the lyrics. Coyotes and A Beautiful Mess are also worth listening to.

Great! Better than Mr. A to Z, but still not as strong as Curbside Prophet. Jason Mraz's third album is much stronger than his second with upbeat tempos and interesting duets. It is still not as strong as his debut CD, but I still love it!
