Amazon.com Tweens aren't often heralded for their good judgment and excellent taste (Heelys--hello), but if any young starlet can redeem them, it's Hannah Montana. On this, the second soundtrack from the Disney Channel series, Miley Cyrus takes her cues from her TV alter ego, who has an alter ego of her own: Disc 1 features Miley as Hannah, hair-tossing pop princess by weekend, likable schoolgirl by weekday (see "Old Blue Jeans" and "True Friends" to get a sense of each episode's un-cloying sweetness). But disc 2 is the start of something new, as her friends over on the High School Musical set might say: Miley sings strictly as her spunky, truth-telling self. This yields a number of pepped-up pop tracks bound to vibrate through the walls of pink bedrooms everywhere--"See You Again" is a boy-centric song instantly relatable to anyone who's ever been in seventh grade and suffered a bout of bashfulness, "East Northumberland High" puts a punk spin on an I'm-just-not-into-you tale, and "Clear" bounces on a reggae beat while canceling any doubt about our heroine's ability to stand up for herself. Like Hannah before her, Miley makes the best of both worlds--this well-worth-it set, by turns rockin' and reflective, is a masterful example. --Tammy La Gorce Hannah Montana Photos

welcome to the machine July 22, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
What we have here, ladies and gentlemen, is the latest dropping from the gigantic byzantine money-making machine called the music industry. Forget the cute little girl's face on the cover, or that she, in some sense at least, sang the songs. She really has nothing to do with it. Its about seperating you from your money. Its product. This is the same recording industry that robbed every classic blues, soul, and R&B singer, got in trouble for payola, even very recently, and wants to charge you 20 clams for a CD. This is the same recording industry that sues housewives for illegally downloading a song they heard on Gray's Anatomy. And here's their product. They cynically attach a blonde little girl to it and make it sound like whatever Kraft brand music happens to be popular at the time. They know you'll buy it.
And don't give me that "It's just for kids, chill out!" stuff either. Kids deserve better. Kids who listen to cheese grow up to be mindless drone adults who listen to cheese. Do yourself a favor: get limewire and download as many songs as you want- its time for some karma on the recording industry. There's also TONS of great kids music out there on small labels.
Better Songs than 1st C.D. June 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This C.D. has better songs than first (looking back) most of the better songs are on the Miley Cyrus part but whatever. But still I think most of it is okay for a few days and then it grows annoying. It's sort of childish to me

One of the few CDs the whole family can listen to in the car. June 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The songs are catchy without being repetitive and annoying. I thought I would hate the CDs but they really grew on me quickly and I don't mind listening to them and it keeps the kids happy!
can she get any better May 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you are a Hannah Montana fan like myself you will probably have all her CDs and love all of them, but this CD (Hannah Montana2) is the best CD that I've every heard. For example, "Let's Dance" was(1)written by Miley herself and (2) it has a Spanish kind of sound which shows she can sing to many different styles. "One in a million" is such a beautiful song - personaly one of my favourites. And this sad song is telling a story about what could happen in real life: "How did I get here I turned around...etc." This double disk CD is what made some people even more crazy about Hannah Montana. Reading other reviews that say mean things about Hannah Montana upset me because who would not like Hannah Montana...
