Sometimes elegance is found in the simplest design, such as the Pocket Velvet corkscrew from Metrokane. Differing from the regular Velvet, the handles on the Pocket Velvet flip up for use, and flip down for compact storage in a pocket, purse, or picnic basket. Living up to its name, the self-pulling corkscrew not only removes corks from wine bottles with velvety smoothness, but feels soft to the touch, thanks to the rubberized grip. The continuous-turn mechanism means you just keep twisting the top and the Teflon-coated screw glides into the cork and pulls it right out of the bottle with ease. Turn the other direction, and the cork is pushed off the spiral. A foil cutter is integrated into the corkscrew, and a notch in the sides allows it to fit perfectly over the top of any bottle for secure positioning. A stand is included. Delivers as Promised September 15, 2008
Love it!! I've had many types of wine openers, most of which give out sooner or later. This one, by far, exceeds all others. Velvety smooth operation for such a simple gadget. And it's not too big; doesn't take up a lot of drawer space. Simply cabulous!!

Easy to use & smooth as velvet! I love it when I find something that works as it's supposed to, and this is an excellent example! Not clunky or cumbersome, but small and lightweight, this corkscrew is designed so it positions the corkscrew in exactly the right place on the cork--foolproof! Keeps you from destroying the cork, and requires no contortions or feats of strength--even contains its own foil cutter. And--it's inexpensive. Not for nothing did it win a design award! Stop struggling with poorly designed corkscrews; this is the one to get!
