 Nice placemats January 13, 2008
I had been considering getting the Blue Italian plates, but after ordering one to take a look at, decided the pattern was too busy for me to use everyday. These placemats make a great alternative. I can still have the pattern but use my solid color dishes on top. These are easy to take care of and work well for everyday. I like the fact that they are hard - it makes them easier to wipe off. And with two kids, they need to be wiped off a lot! They are quite a bit more expensive than what I'd typically spend on an everyday placemat, but I think they'll last longer than the type we used to use. We've been using them for about a year and they have held up well.

These placemats are very pretty and great easy care to just wipe off.
They do look a little bit cheesy since they are cork backed with laminated paper on top. I knew that when ordering them but for everyday I liked the effortless care of just wiping them off. They are holding up so far but I think possibly in time they will scratch and look bad but we are being careful. Two of them are very slightly warped making them stick up a bit in a concave manner but two of them lay flat nicely. I am hoping with some weight on them they will flatten out better in time. I am happy so far with my purchase for the most part. I've only used them for a about a month however.
