Tasty AND convenient bites! September 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've enjoyed trying various food items from Amazon lately, and this is hands down my favorite. The little pouches are sooo convienent; the product stays fresh and tastey until you want to use it, and it is just the right size to prepare a dish for two, or clips it shut (I use a clothes pin, or a paper clip) to eat later.
The Punjab Eggplant is a bit spicey, especially if you are eating it by itself. I use it as a side dish, rather than an entree, or I pour it over brown rice or the like. For example, when I got my first shipment of foods from Amazon, we were in a hurry to get out, and we didn't have time to make a meal. Looking through my stuff, I pulled out the Punjab egglant, a jar of whole wheat couscous, and a tin of sardines. I heated up the egglant during the five minutes it takes to prepare couscous, put the cousous on two plates, added a couple of sardines for protein, and viola, a super quick tastey and nutricious meal!
Love Tasty Bite meals!! May 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Have ordered a variety of these Indian meals and love them all. Fast and easy to prepare and the taste is just great. Was very surprised at how good they were when I started using them. Really solved my problem of loving Indian food but no take out nearby and my husband hates eating out.
not limited to April 28, 2008 Tasty Bite makes a "Jaipur Vegetables" that is soooo delicious. It is the best of all the others ie: eggplant, lentil, spinach. OK it is a tad high in salt but the seasoning is just perfect. I am trying to get away from rice (need to diet) so I crumple up a slice of dried Ezekiel Bread in a bowl and pour the pouch over it. it sops up the sauce and makes it more robust. Sometimes I add some freshly cooked vegetables. No preservatives at all and a cinch to prepare in boilable silver foil pouch which is also easy to open. I rate this selection 4 star...no 5!
Great as party dip too January 11, 2008 I served this with snack crackers as a dip to two different groups and received unanimous praise for its spicy deliciousness. Works great as either hot or cold dip. Five stars as a dip.
As a main or side dish, I agree with another reviewer that the eggplant taste is obscured. However, it still makes for a tasty meal. Four stars.
Good meal for one hungry person, October 20, 2007 I bought this specifically because it didn't come with rice. Rice is one of the most inexpesive food items on the planet and it's so easy to make. The reviewer who said it didn't taste like eggplant has obviously never eaten Indian food before. This is a non-refridgerated item that is priced right and tastes pretty good. I prefer it over other Tasty Bite entrees.
