Tender rounds December 15, 2008 When I opened the can I didn't like the way the product looked and smelled. Kinda reminded me of Alpo. However, I poured off the gravy and put the meat balls in marinara sauce. Then it was pretty good. Reminded me of the meatballs in Franco American speghetti and meatballs. But not a mystery meat.. so it was good.
Delicious and quick to make November 7, 2008 The only problem with Tender Rounds is that I tend to eat them right out of the can while I am cooking! They are delicious and so easy and quick. I put them in spaghetti sauce, I serve them as sandwiches on toasted rolls, I serve them over noodles in a brown gravy... the list goes on and on. Add them to soups, to Rice A Roni dishes, too, and get a nice protein boost to your meal. A wonderful inexpensive meal in our house consists of dried Chinese noodles (NOT fried Ramen noodles, but unfried noodles that we get at a local Chinese supermarket) cooked with a can of Tender Rounds, including their gravy. A little seasoning, a little hot chili sauce.... mmmm. Tastes great, costs little and opens up congested sinuses to boot!
Vegetarian Staple June 11, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a must have for vegetarians, as it is versatile and quick to prepare. You can serve this right out of the can with its own gravy, or you can remove the rounds from the gravy, and submerge them in spaghetti sauce or anything else. My favorite way to consume this product is to heat and eat. I also delight in having it over noodles. The taste is good.
Great taste! But they have FD&C Red Dye ;-( May 4, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I loved these and agree with others...all around great tasting, good gravy and healthier than the usual meat products...similar to Swedish meatballs. My only negative: they should find a more natural solution for the coloring...do they really have to use FD&C Red Dye? It's a shame they couldn't maintain their healthy agenda...I would actually take off more than one star, but two seems extreme...although the Red Dye may be enough to turn off some people, which I can fully understand!
TASTES GREAT AWESOME PRODUCT!!! December 3, 2007 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT IT IS GREAT TASTING ALTERNATIVE TO FOUL TASTING DEAD ANIMAL CARCASES AND THEY DON'T COMPARE IT TO ONE ON THE LABEL SO THAT I DON'T LOSE MY APPETITE.IT IS GOOD JUST POURED OVER POTATOES OR EVEN COLD OUT OF THE CAN YOU'LL LOVE IT ANY WAY YOU FIX IT!
