I'd say this is a medium fine grind - not too coarse, but not as fine as table salt. We used this to make a number of flavored salts as gifts, and it worked very well. The smaller size of the crystals was a good match for dried herbs as well as citrus rind in the mortar and pestle.
This is also a very good value - you get almost 7 lbs of salt.
